Departure segments Flashcards
what are the requirements for the first segment?
from liftoff up to the point where gear is fully retracted
- 2 engine positive climb in still air
- 1 engine inoperative, remaining at takeoff thrust
- landing gear in max drag
- take-off flaps
- lift off speed to v2
what are the requirements of the second segment?
from gear retraction to the point at which the flaps and slats are being retracted
- 2 engine 2.4% climb in still air
- 1 engine inoperative, remaining at takeoff thrust
- landing gear retracted
- takeoff flaps
- speed= V2
what are the requirements for the third segment?
level off height
- 2 engine 1.2% required still air gradient
- T/O power to MCP
- retracting flaps and slats
- acceleration to at least 1.25Vs
when does the third segment end?
when the maximum time allowed for use of takeoff power expires
what are the requirements for the final takeoff segment?
- 2 engine 2.1% still air climb gradient
- MCP
- clean configuration
- speed minimum 1.25Vs
when is the final takeoff segment?
from the end of the third segment until the aircraft reaches 1500ft above the takeoff surface or more if required for obstacle clearance
when will the final takeoff segment exist?
if thrust must be reduced to MCT before the aircraft reaches 1500ft according to regulations
