Q

What is the role of the SLP?

A

To first determine whether the abnormal speech is related to abnormal structure or abnormal function. If it is caused by abnormal structure, it is important to determine whether there are obligatory distortions (due to abnormal structure only) or compensatory errors (alterations in articulation placement due to abnormal structure)
