• in Scotland’s democracy each of the parties have to recruit people to stand + represent them, to be successful they will want to recruit candidates that will be popular to voters but also be strong supporters of the parties policies
• Labour in Scotland have been trying to recruit more women to stand as a way of showing the party is passionate about equality
