What is discrimination?
Discrimination is identified as any exclusion or restriction based on inherent characteristics such as race, gender, or religion, leading to the impairment of human rights.

What is the difference between unfair and fair discrimination?
Fair: measures that are designed and implemented to advance previously disadvantaged persons
Unfair: Unfairly treating people or a group differently from other people or groups
What is the bill of rights?
Emphasized the protection of human rights for all its citizens
What is a constitution?
A fundamental document that outlines the basic principles and rules that govern a country or an organization.
What is a bill?
A statement of the rights of a group of people OR a proposed the law that is presented to a legislative body for consideration and debate before it becomes law.
What is a charter?
A formal document that declares or guarantees specific rights or privileges, often in the context of an organization, institution, or group of people.
What is the Convention for the Rights of the Child and how did it originate?
It is a document that sets out 54 specific rights of children.
What is the purpose of the Convention?
Insists that children are human beings in the full sense of the term and are required to human rights and insists that Governments, parents and other adults have a duty to ensure these rights are met.
Who can be a member of the Convention?
The Government of any country recognized by the United Nations can sign up to the Convention.
According to the Convention, what age constitutes a ‘child’?
A child means any human being under the age of 18 years, unless an earlier age of majority is recognized by the law of a specific country.
