every 5 years after age 65 the number of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease doubles about one-third of people over 85 have the disease

what is vascular dementia
also known as multi infarct dementia
result of multiple strokes
progresses in a stepwise pattern of degeneration
what is Lewy body dementia?
occurs when certain proteins group together inside brain cells
protein deposits are known as Lewy bodies
protein build-up also happens in PD which can lead to misdiagnosis
what is Frontotemporal Dementia
uncharacteristic personality changes and unexplained struggles with decision making, speaking or language comprehension are among the most common presenting symptoms
