In general, LPN/LVN training allows those nurses to do those tasks that have the most predictable outcomes. That includes administering oral meds, removal of urinary catheters, dressing changes, and other similar jobs. The RN must understand the limits prescribed by the state’s nurse practice act since some states allow more freedom than others.
