People have natural rights that can’t be taken away by gov people to a gov for protection of these natural rights and can overthrow governments that fail to do. This people are not going to break away for petty reasons, but a line was crossed that breaking away is justified.
List of grievances three examples
A list of accusations against British government, such as taxation without representation, being forced to quarter troops and homes, and sending people overseas for trials

Colonist repeatedly asked for changes and felt repeatedly ignored
Statement of separation
The colonist declared themselves free and independent country with all powers of an independent country has, and they signed a document, knowing that they could be sentenced to treason
