Why and when constitution was written
Written in 1787 when delegates scrapped the AOC and started over
Purpose for preamble
Intro to constitutions and states its reasons and goals
Article 1
-Describes the powers given to and denied to both congress and the states
-terms of office qualifications and leadership positions for HOR and senate
Article 2
-describes terms of office and qualifications and the electoral collage for the president and VP
- describes powers of the president and oath of office
Article 3
Creates 1 Supreme Court and congress created lower courts
All federal judges serve life terms
Describes Justification of federal courts
Article 4
-obligations that states have to each other
-all states must have a republican form of gov
-process to add new states
Article 5
-Process to amend the constitution
-to propose you need 2/3 of both chambers of congress
-to ratify 3/4 of states
Article 6
-supremacy clause constitution is supreme law of land and federal laws override state laws
-to hold any office oath to uphold constitution and no religious test
Article 7 and when constitution was ratified
-to ratify constitution need 9/13 states which happened in 1788
