Why should you show extra caution when sharing the road with bicycles and motorcycles?
Bicycles- do not have signalling techniques to let you know when they are stopping
Motorcycles- can stop very quickly, and without warning
Why should you be cautious when sharing the road with large vehicles?
They need extra space to stop
2) they may roll back when releasing brakes
3) they spray debris
4) they have large blind spots, and may not be able to see you when backing up or driving
5) they require extra room to turn
What rules apply to funeral processions?
DRIVING IN A FUNERL PROCESSION:
1)Follow through intersection without stopping if safe to do so
2) have headlights on, must be following right behind vehicle ahead in procession
DO NOT PASS THROUGH FUNERAL PROCESSION!!
Yield the right of way until it has passed!
What do you do if you see a school bus stopped on a DIVIDED highway (median)
If alternating amber lights- pass with extreme caution and be prepared to stop
If alternating red lights- drivers on the same side cannot pass (must stop 20 m behind), however drivers on the opposing side can proceed with caution.
What should you do if you see a school bus stopped on a NON-DIVIDED (no median) highway?
If alternating amber lights- pass with extreme caution and be prepared to stop
If alternating red lights- do not pass. Stop 20 m behind or 20 m in front.
