When water vapor in the air condenses into water droplets or ice crystals
Condensation
The process by which water vapor turns into liquid
Evaporation
The process by which water turns into gas or vapor
Transpiration
The process by which plants release water vapors into the air
Sublimation
The process by which a solid turns directly into a gas without becoming a liquid first
Cirrus Clouds
Thin, wispy clouds made up of ice crystals, found high in the atmosphere
Cumulus Clouds
Puffy, fair-weather clouds with a flat base and a “head up” top (Think Care Bear Clouds)
Stratus Clouds
Gray, flat, low laying clouds, often layered bring precipitation (Think Gloomy)
Cumulonimbus Clouds
large, tall clouds that are dark on the bottom and usually produce rain and thunderstorms
Nimbostratus Clouds
low, dark gray cloud that looks like a big, flat blanket covering the sky brings steady rain or snow
