What is the Deadly Force definition?
“Force that is likely to cause, or that a person knows or should know would create a substantial risk of causing, death or serious bodily harm or injury.”
What is the Deadly Force Triangle ?
The deadly force triangle consist of three steps. The steps are opportunity, capability, and intent.
Opportunity- Examines whether the individual has the chance to use their capability to cause harm.
Capability- Refers whether the individual has the ability to cause death or serious bodily harm.
Intent- Refers to whether the person demonstrates a clear intention to cause death or serious bodily harm.
Intent can be communicated through verbal threats, aggressive actions, or other behaviors that indicate a willingness to inflict harm.
