DC circuit And Current Of Electricity Flashcards
Electric current
Rate of flow of charge through a point
Charge
The product of current and time during which the current flows
1 coulomb
The quantity of electric charge that pass a given point in a circuit when a steady current of 1A flows through that point for 1s.
Potential difference
pd between 2 points in a circuit is the energy converted from electrical energy to other forms of energy per unit charge moved between the 2 points.
Electromotive force
EMF of a source is the energy converted from non-electrical energy to electrical energy per electric charge in driving a charge around a complete circuit.
Resistance
The ratio of potential difference across the device to the current flowing through it
1 ohm
The resistance of a device through which a current of 1A flows when a pd of 1V exists across it
