Who was Bashar al-Assad?
Bashar al-Assad, son of Hafez al-Assad, is the current president of Syria. He used his countries military on his own people, and is very smart. He leads a very brutal government that suppresses any risings, but one day he went too far and his own people started a rebellion against him. From the start, he shows his intellect by forcing terrorists to aid the rebels, making internal problems for countries aiding the rebels as this would also be aiding the terrorists. He ended up starting a civil war that is still ongoing with many key players like the United States and Russia backing up different sides of the war.
What is a Refugee?
A refugee is a person who flees to another country to escape war, persecution, and natural disasters.
