What services does onecom provide?
Lines, broadband and hosted telephony
What does the first line technical support deal with?
Fixed line faults (FLF)
What is a PSTN line?
It is a public switched telephone network. A physical line that carries telephone signals through copper wire.
What are the three layers of hierarchy in the business?

It provides more stable and reliable calls over a longer distance.
What phone line services can PSTN supply?
Phone, FAX, lift telecom, alarm, card machine.
What are the different types of broadband?
- ADSL
- FTTC
- SoGEA
- FTTP
- DIA (direct internet access aka leased line)
What is ADSL?
Asymmetric digital subscriber line. Is a type of digital subscriber line technology. Basic broadband, an upgraded version of dial up. It enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines.
What is FTTC?
Fibre to the cabinet
Exchange = fibre = cabinet = copper = customer
75 - 80% of customers
FTTC runs alongside a phone line so it has a CLI.
What is FTTP?
Fibre to the premise.
What is SoGEA?
Single order generic Ethernet access.
Same as FTTC
For cloud phone and VP phone.
What are the contended lines?
ADSL
FTTC
SoGEA
FTTP
What is a leased line?
Direct internet access. Exchange to premise.
