Define the term Nominal Data
A scale or measurement based on categories, with numbers in each category counted.
For example: gender, ethnicity, body fat
Define the term Ordinal Data
A scale or measurement based on rankings. Difference between ranks is not quantified.
For example: tennis ladder tournament
Define the term Interval Data
Parametric data which is a scale or measurement which has equal units or intervals, but no true zero.
For example: temperature
Define the term Ratio Data
Parametric data which is a scale or measurement which has equal distance between points and has a true zero. It is also known as “the most complete scale of measurement”
For example: height, weight, mass, speed
