Information - inferred from data. More relevant and structured than raw data.
What is Knowledge in DIKW?
Knowledge - Information that has been put to use. Information placed into context.
What is Wisdom in DIKW?
Wisdom provides a social setting to knowledge. (understanding of WHY - must have knowledge AND experience)

IT professional are an integral part of ensuring data is processed appropriately to obtain relevant information.

It is the TOOL used to input data and output information.
What makes QUALITY data?
Relevance, Timely, Thorough, Accurate, Reliable
What is Relevant data?
Data must apply directly to the decision being made.
What is TIMELY data?
Data must be efficient and provided in a timely manner so as to properly serve its purpose.
What is THOROUGH data?
Data must be complete and not contain errors or data lapses.
What is ACCURATE data?
Data should be captured only once, although may have multiple uses. Most accurate if captured as close to point of activity as possible.
