When is a bar graph used?
A
When there are separate variables/categories - each column represents a distinct category

A
When there is continuous data, generally over time. It can show how variables change and help predict patterns/trends

When there is continuous data but this is made up of equal sized intervals (each column represents an aspect of the same fixed category)
