▪ what to do if an incident or accident involving DG, shall occur in-flight or on the ground.
UNDECLARED/ HIDDEN DANGEROUS GOODS pose a major risk to the safety of civil aviation, as it refers to:
The risk of explosion;
▪ The risk to the safety of passengers and crew; ▪ The risk of smoke, fire or toxic inhalation;
▪ The risk of exposure to ionizing radiation or
contaminated substances/ liquids;
Crew Members must also
be adequately trained, according to the Operator’s manuals, to identify and detect DG presented as general cargo or carried on-board;

▪ pay close attention when assisting the passengers in the stowage of carry-on baggage in the cabin;
▪ ensure that no DG, other than those permitted by IATA- DGR Table 2.3.A, are carried on board;
▪ seek confirmation from the passenger about any suspicious luggage taken on-board.
The following tips can help identify potentially hidden dangerous goods:
a stain or wet package may indicate spillage or leakage;
▪ odors or smells may indicate a spillage or leakage;
▪ packages generating fumes or smoke;
▪ a shift of the center of gravity of a package may refer to dangerous liquid contents;
▪ a package that is very cold to the touch or has visible frost may contain dry ice or
liquid nitrogen;
▪ vibration, noises, hissing, which may come from aerosols;
▪ certain international symbols (e.g., GHS pictograms,
UN Specification symbol, or hazard and handling labels).

means not subject to or restricted by IATA-DGR, except as otherwise stated.
Not restricted, as per Special Provision
must be included in the description of the article on the Air Waybill when required, to indicate that the Special Provision has been applied.
