D1, D2, D3 Flashcards
What is coefficient of determination?
the ratio of the standard deviation to the mean expressed as a percentage
How dyk if its statistically significant
The P value is less than 0.05
How do u know if its statistically insignificant
more than 0.05
Purpose of a T-test
to know if there’s a significant difference between two variables
Whats an independent T test
the normal most used ones finds if theres a significant difference between two things
Whats a dependant t test
the two groups are related in some way
Whats a two tailed T test
Tests if the mean is greater or smaller than x. So it can go either way
One tailed Test
Can only go one direction
Whats the placebo affect
when u tell someone there receiving some kind of treatment but there not but there brain thinks they are so they get better or improve.
Accuracy
How closely the measured value or observation of something matches the true real one.
Reliability
If the test is done again am i likely to get the same results
Precision
Being exact and accurate
Speceficity and validity
Does it accurately test for and measure what its supposed to. Like is it constructive if your testing for arm strength in swimmers and do a squat test that not a valid testing method.
Null Hypothesis
There is no relashionship between x and y
Alternate hypothesis
There is a relationship x effects y
Whats blinding and double blinding
Blinding - the participants dont know what there recieving
Double blinding - the participants and the researchers/observers dont know whats been given to who
Maximal test
Goes until max exhaustion requires high level of activity makes u perform at ur highest, which means its accurate but people dont rly wanna do that and u cant do it lots of times
Submaximal test
estimates maximal effort based on below maximum effort its easier and wont injur and more ppl wanna do it but its less accuratre.
