  1. Makes a ranged attack only if you have ammunition to fire from the weapon.
  2. If the weapon is one handed, you need a free hand to load it.
  3. Each attack with the weapon expends 1 Ammunition.
  4. Can recover half of your expended ammunition after a battle by searching the battle field.
  5. If a weapon has the ammunition property and you use it to make a melee attack, the weapon is treated as an “Improvised Weapon.”

A

When you make an attack with a finesse weapon, you use your choice of your Strength or Dexterity Ability Modifier for attack and damage rolls.

-Note: You must use the same modifier for both rolls.

A

-Range is a property listed on weapons that can be used to make a ranged attack.
-Weapons with the Ammunition or Thrown property can be used to make a ranged attack.

  1. Range is a set of two numbers indicating a weapon’s Normal Range and Long Range.
  2. You have Disadvantage on the Attack Roll when attacking at Long range.
  3. You cannot attack a target beyond Long range.

A

How do Improvised Weapons work?
(5 Part Answer)

A
  1. An improvised weapon includes any object you can wield in one or two hands.
  2. An improvised thrown weapon has a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.
  3. At the DM’s option:
    -A character proficient with a weapon (ex. Club),
    -Can use a similar object (Ex. Table Leg),
    -As if it were that weapon (Ex. Club),
    -And use his or her Proficiency bonus.
  4. An object that bears no resemblance to a weapon deals 1d4 damage. (The DM assigns a damage type appropriate to the object.)
  5. These also deal 1d4 damage:
    -Using a ranged weapon to make a melee attack.
    -Throwing a melee weapon without the “Thrown” property.

How do Silvered Weapons work?

A

For 100gp you can silver a single weapon or 10 pieces of ammunition.
-Some monsters that have immunity or resistance to Non-Magical weapons are susceptible to Silver weapons.

What are the two weapons with the “Special Weapons” property in the 5E Player Handbook?
(Bonus- What are their special rules?)

A
  1. Lance
    - You have Disadvantage when you use a Lance to attack a target within 5 feet of you.
    - When not mounted, a Lance requires two hands to wield.
  2. Net
    - Tiny, Small, Medium and Large creatures hit by a net are restrained until freed.
    - A net has no effect on Huge, Gargantuan and larger creatures. Nor on creatures that are formless.
  • A creature can use it’s action to make a DC 10 Strength check. On a success it may free itself, or another creature within its reach.
  • Dealing 5 slashing damage to the net (AC 10) also frees the creature without harm. The net is Destroyed.
