C- carbmazepine R- rifampicin A- alcohol (chronic) P- phenytoin S- St. John's wart
2
Q
Cytp450 inhibitors
A
C GEMS
C- ciprofloxacin G- grapefruit (and cranberry) E- erythromycin M- metronidazole S- sodium valproate
3
Q
What is the effect on drug metabolised by enzyme cytP450 by enzyme inducers ?
A
Decreases the amount of drug as more of it is metabolised
E.g. Will reduce INR in warfarin as more warfarin is metabolised
4
Q
What is the effect of enzyme inhibitors in drugs metabolised by cytp450 ?
A
Increases the amount of those drugs as less of them are metabolised
5

- carbmazepine
- warfarin
- OCP
- theophylline
- phenytoin
