AREA MICROPHONE

A

ACTIVATION:

  • when first engine started OR
  • Voice Recorder switch placed to the ON position

* Area mic is ‘ACTIVE’ (not activated) anytime 115v AC is applied to the airplane

A

Illuminated (momentary green):

  • no faults are detected during recorder TEST

ERASE Switch

A

Activate:

  • Push for 2 seconds - with airplane on ground and parking brake set
    • all 4 channels are erased

TEST Switch

A

Activate:

  • Push for 5 seconds.
    • after a slight delay and no faults are detected -
      • Status Light illuminates momentarily
      • a tone may be heard via the HEADPHONE jack

NOTE: to do a test - the Voice Recorder switch must be either in the ON position OR at least 1 engine operating

HEADSET JACK

A
  • headset may be plugged into jack to monitor tone during test or playback of voice audio

VOICE RECORDER Switch

A
  • located on different panel than the area mic etc.
  • 2 position switch
  • controls voice recorder power

AUTO:

  • powers CVR from first engine start until 5 min after LAST engine shutdown (gets power via the time delay relay)

ON:

  • powers the CVR UNTIL the first engine start - THEN it trips the switch to AUTO (magnetic switch)
