• requires prolonged iv therapy
• pt has poot venous access

• one of the most health acquired infection that can be life threatening and treatments can be costly
• dislodgement

• asepsis / sterile field
• date & time the tagederm and then document
• inspect the site for any: swelling, discolourations, pain
