Clinical:
Qualified in 2009, infection training sine 2014. I
I have accumulated a wide range of experience which has equipped me to handle a variety of clinical solutions and to deliver high quality patient care. Clinicaly I have in depth experience of managing immunocomprimised patients, PLWHIV, infections in pregnancy.
From an IPC perspective I have led outbreak investigations for respiratory viral infections, and Norovirus. I was part for the HIS norovirus comitee, and contributed to the recently published national Norovirus guidelines, I am a facilitator for HCID- UK: includes training in PPE donning and doffing
I have had two OOPEs during which I was keen to maintain and expand my clinical skills during my time out of trining, so self arranged to partake in Travel Medicine clinics, and NHS clinics alongside this which I think broadened my experience, I was still able to achieve.
My research experience is what I would describe as very hands on. I was a subinvestigator for several HIV and sexual health trials and involved recruitment, direct patient contact, execution of trial protocols. I have also published slff directed projects resulting in several poster prestations and published in several journals. This has given me strong confidence in the to interpret fine details of clinical trial data to inform my clinical practice
I am particularly passionate about teaching as I enjoy interacting with people and I see it as one method of enhancing relationships at work. My educational fellow post at HEE provided me with an indepth experience in the educational processes as well as the opportunities to developed skills as a simulation training facilitator. I was involved in developing return to practice course. . Also great from a management perspective
I’ve positively embraced frequently changing posts and positions. Credit to my adaptability.
From a management perspective, I have been a rota coordinator at two trusts, I have written several diagnostic aglorythms guidelines and loboratory SOPS.. At HEE I was part of team that investigated hospitals that were under special measure, I have been a personal and academic supervisor for MSc students at UCL, I am a mentor for people RTP

How many departments: Clinical Virology (GSTT, Kings, Royal london, St George’s), I feel very confident interpreting serology and molecular results, and trouble shooting in the laboratory.
I have experience in offering diagnostics services to patients with complex infections and immunosupressed patients and patients with suspected imported infection. MDT and advice for paediatric and adults HSCT. Infections in transplant patients, Advising and for diagnostics in congenital infection
Direct patient facing experience of outpattient, viral hepatitis, HIV, OPAT, general ID, TB, Travel medicine. Skills in sexual health. In-patient experience of managing acutely unwell patients, patients requiring specialist ID services tht are transferred
From an I IPC persepctive I have led on several measles, norovirus and respiratory outbreaks, and been actively involved in PPE training.
One of the great things about my training has been the opportunity to have training with regards to microbiology, and my out-of hours work relates largely to this.
