  1. What age does the ductus arteriosus close?
  2. What age does Pulm vascular resistance fall to normal?
A
  1. 5-14 days—expect left sided obstructive processes (ie HLHS, CoA) to present with cardiogenic shock.
  2. 6-8 weeks—will cause a VSD to become more symptomatic due to increase blood flow (left to right)

  1. Pericardial friction rub
  2. Pleuritic anterior chest pain
  3. Widespread ST elevation or PR depression on EKG
