Past simple. **would** + verb
1-When we talk about something that is generally true or often happens, we use the present simple or present perfect tense in the main clause and the present simple in the conditional clause.

2 - It is also possible to use an imperative or a modal verb in the main clause.

3- To talk about something that may happen in the future, we use will in the main clause.

You cannot dine in the cub unless you have a membership card.
5-When we talk about something we think is impossible or unlikely to happen, we use the past simple or past continuous in the conditional clause and would in the main clause.
If I knew the answer, I would tell you.
If he was coming, he would ring.
6- When we talk about things that did not happen and imagine how things might have been different in the past we use:
if + past perfect + would/could/might + have + past participle.
If he had had more experience, we could have given him the job.
