A
water, food, zoonotic, ingestion of oocysts (excreted in feces)
oocysts can reinvade (auto infection)

diagnosis
A
oocysts in stool (ziehl-nelson stain), ELISA, immunofluorescence

symptoms
A
explosive watery diarrhea (brown green), 2-10x/day, fever, vomiting, anorexia, abdom discomfort, death in immunocompromised

treatment
A
rehydration (no anti-diarrheal meds - facilitates reinfection)
