Cross Functional Team
Members from different organization functions, divisions, or departments work together to solve problem or achieve goal.
Functional Team
Team comprised of members from several vertical levels of organizations hierarchy who perform same function but different responsibilities.
Groupthink
Team behavior to avoid conflict, but causes loss of critical thinking and individual thoughts as everyone agrees with one another.
Permanent Team
Team with unlimited life and continuas need that is never accomplished. IE: HR, Branding, Operations
Process Improvement Team
Cross functional team that focuses on creating workplace efficiencies and saving costs.
Project Team
Multi dimensional team for a defined period of time to achieve a goal such as software development or administering corporate event.
Self-Managed Team
Type of team comprised of employees who work together to achieve common goal under their own supervision. Cost effective, higher productivity, but prone to Groupthink.
Social Loafing
Tendency of a team to exert less effort in a larger diverse group than when working alone.
Stages of team development
Forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjouring.
Task Force Team
Temporary type of team for a single purpose such as completing a project, gathering data, or finding solution to a problem.
Team Dynamics
behavioral relationships that influence how teams work together.
Team
Group of people who work collaboratively to achieve a common goal.
Virtual Team
Team members geographically dispersed and may seldom meet face to face. Often used by global teams.
