• Helped give parliamentary law (statute law) precedence over church law (canon law)

• Court of augmentations and court of first fruits and tenths – established to look after H’s income from church.
What did Cromwell do to the privy council?
He changed the composition of the privy council, reducing it to 20 men who took responsibility to the business of government
What did Cromwell do when Henry’s marriage to Anne broke down?
He made the case for Anne’s adultery
When and why was cromwell’s fall?
His fall followed the failure of H’s 4 marriage to Anne of cleves. He had arranges this marriage and was tried for treason and executed in 1540.
