Below 10,000 MSL:
Max 2000 fpm
Below 2500 AGL:
Max 1500 fpm
Engine Operating Limits
- N2 split at ground idle should be 2% MAX
- If N2 is 57% or less
with OAT of at least -20C
CAN’T accelerate above idle

Tactile Walkaround
A tactile check of:
- wing leading edge
- wing FWD upper SFC
- wing rear upper SFC
to determine wing is free from:
frost, ice, snow, or slush when:
- OAT is 10C or less, or
- wing fuel is 0C or less
AND:
T/DP spread 3 degrees or less

Flap Failure After T/O

When a takeoff alternate is filed:
- Max 15,000 feet
- MIN FUEL 5,000 LBS
- Allows for flight with flaps 20
and land with at least 1,000 LBS fuel

Landing is prohibited when:
CFM 8-49
- Crosswinds exceed published CFM limits
- Heavy rain with convective activity
- Moderate or heavy freezing rain
- Heavy freezing drizzle
- Reported severe icing by a similar type or larger aircraft
- Reported severe or extreme TURB by a similar type or larger aircraft
- Contaminated runway without:
a braking action report OR
runway surface condition report - Braking action NIL OR
Mu 20 or below - Minimum prepared
RWY surface width less than 60 feet - Captain decides there is not adequate landing distance available OR ldg wt. above limits for conditions
- Runway sfc less than 7000 ft and braking action MEDIUM or POOR if:
- tailwind greater than 3 KTS, or
- inoperative thrust reverser, or
- anti-skid INOP, or
- snow/ice contamination AND rainfall
