A critique offers a path for improvement. An evaluation tests the users knowledge or skill.

How is a written test developed?
Objective: Demonstrate a specific level of learning (RUAC) - measure the understanding level of normal approach maneuver
Behaviors: Understanding normal approach - why we use approach, how to set it up, control inputs used, indications
Criterion objectives: Student will pass exam with 70%
Criterion referenced assessment: Questions that measure behaviors
How does norm-referenced testing differ from criterion-referenced testing?
Norm-referenced measures performance against other students.
Criterion-reference measures performance against a standard.
Why do we use the PTS?
To ensure completion of a certificate with a high level of proficiency and safety.
To provide examiners with minimum standards for completion of practical exams.
As a reference for training.
