the goal of critical theory is inclusion and revision. Ex) Invitational Rhetoric, male rhetorians
What is Invitational Rhetoric?
revising theory to make it more inclusion
What is hegemony?
- leadership or dominance, but rather involves attempts by various groups to articulate meaning systems that are actively taken up by other groups
- the ivolvement of those without power in the normalization of their own subjugation
What is the marxist roots?
its oppressive and only a few people control the wealth
-The people that aren’t in control will eventually overthrow the few percent.
Is marxism a viable theory?
no, nothing has changed.
What does Ideology do for critical theory?
a mind of unquestion assumpition of things (natural order)
- a base line of what they believe
- “taken for granted” assumptions about really that influence situations and events
