What is a developmental crisis?
Can you predict this happening?
When someone at a certain developmental age is not actually at the stage for whatever is dropped on them. If they can’t plan & cope for this, it turns into a crisis.
Maybe sometimes. Like a child being sent off to college is predicted.
How is birth of a child a developmental crisis?
Well new young parents may not know how to cope with the new baby.
How is a death of a parent a developmental crisis?
A child has probably never had to experience death before and they are not equipped to handle it.
How is it that a child leaving for college is a developmental crisis
Well the parent will feel it but it is the child developing and going off into a new stage
What is a situational crisis?
Will you. have a warning?
A situation crisis is a crisis that develops from a disruptive event and external circumstances. You won’t know its coming either.
Why is unemployment a situational crisis?
Disasters?

You weren’t expecting to be fired
- how prepared you are will depend on if you think it is a crisis
