relating to new developmental stages or events
What are examples of maturaitonal crisis
puberty retirement marriage birth of a child death (if by old age)
What is a situational crisis (dispositional)
related to a experiencing a unexpected loss or change of everyday life
What are some examples of dispositional/situaitonal crisis
job loss having an obortion diagnosed with disease death of loved one divorce
What are adventitious crisis
related to experiencing things like
natural disaters
crimes (rape, assault, murder, child abuse)
terrorist attacks

anx excalates as their defense mechanisms fail
functioning becomes disorganized
the pat resorts to internal and external resources for trial and error problem solving

as trial and error attempts fail, anx rises and panic sets in triggering flight reponse or withdrawal symps
What is phase 4 of crisis
Feeligns of overwhelming anxiety, anguish, powerlessness, dissociative symptoms, depression, confusion, and violence
