Starts from presumption of innocence
Power of state is greatest threat to individuals freedom
Rules and rights involved

Negative influences if defendant is silent
Extended police detention is allowed
Jury trials are only for serious cases
Public immunity can prevent disclosing of evidence
What are rules favouring due process model?
Suspects rights to know why they are being arrested Right to remain silent Right to legal prosecution Right to trial by jury Right to appeal against conviction
