they aim to give the child a better situation in life instead of punishing them. the council may take a more active role in supporting the child, or be taken into care.

they are less likely to commit crimes because their needs are met. critics say that the panel have recently been punishing children anyway, using supervision and tagging.

one of their aims is to keep people who pose a threat to society locked up. really secure.

one of the main aims is to punish criminals. if they know it’s unpleasant then it will be a deterrent, making them lees likely to commit a crime

help prisoners to turn there life around by providing education programmes, job training and addiction programmes

what is community payback?
offenders do unpaid work to pay back the cost of the crime they have committed. they pick up litter, clean graffiti and do other unskilled work.

used together with curfews. monitors whether or not your at home.fitted around ankle. connects to base station, sounds alarm if offender goes too far away from it.
