  • hum on a voiced consonant (mmm). start on comfortable note, move down scale 1 note. take breath after each new step. start on note you finished last on, sustain sound, move down 1 note. continue until lower would feel uncomfortable. stay on last 2 steps + repeat these notes few times.

A

1 - dialogue slows the story’s pace down while narration speeds it up
2 - when narrating you speak to the audience with an interesting and dynamic voice, but dialogue is when 2 characters have a conversation

A

1 - a playwright: may write play alone / with cast, where cast contribute to ideas presented onstage it is known as a workshop theatre
2 - a director: responsible for overall creative vision for play, making sure all aspects come together artistically to tell story in the best way
3 - a producer: responsible for business + financial administration of production. they usually hire creative team, markets production to audience + ensures finances properly accounted for
4 - a designer: creates visual world for play; theatre design includes set design, costume design + designing of properties
5 - a lighting designer: uses stage lights to create atmosphere, set scene + make visual impact
6 - a composer: creates original score productions that require music (not all theatre pieces use composer, but operas + musicians do).
