Olfactory, smell impulses
What is CN 2 and its function?
Optic, visual impulses
What is CN 3 and its function?
Oculomotor, lateral, medial, and superior eye movements
- constricts pupils and elevates eyelids
What is CN 4 and its function?
Trochlear, control inferomedial eye movement
What is CN 5 and its function?
Trigeminal, sensory impulses of pain, touch, and temperature from the face
- influences biting and chewing

Abducens, lateral eye movements

Facial
- contains sensory fibers for taste
- stimulates secretions from salivary glands
- stimulates tears from lacrimal glands
- affects facial expressions

- swallowing, talking, and production of digestive juices

Accessory
- promotes movement of the shoulders and head rotation
- some movement of the larynx
What is CN 12 and its function?
Hypoglossal
- promotes tongue movement for movement of food and for talking
