Q

what is the pathway of olfactory nerves

A
  • within the olfactory epithelium there are lots of receptor cells forming bundles which pass through cribriform plate which is part of the ethmoid bone
  • ethmoid bone contains lots of holes allowing nerves to pass through
  • the afferent fibres synapse in the olfactory bulb
  • axons of post synaptic neurone proceed to cerebrum as olfactory tracts
