Obtain brief details of what the report of concern is about to enable a risk assessment to be completed so the appropriate initial response can be determined.

A

Take this persons details and use what they say to form the basis of information for the notification. Do not ask the child again what has happened to them.

What should you do if it is unclear what a child has disclosed?

A

If there are no immediate risks then don’t ask the child any further questions. If it is necessary to speak with the child to ascertain their safety only ask open ended questions.

A

As well as any other code used the 6C code must be used to show that the atendance related to a report of concern.
