Risk, Recondnize, React, Resuscitate
What happens in a blood vessle that causes a heart attact? What happens to the muscle its attached to?
The a vessle gets cloged and blood can’t get through, or when it immediatly breaks the clog and the blood rushes quickly out.. The muscle dies.
What is Cardiac Arrest?
When the heart completley stops moving.
What is CPR?
They are compressions on the chest that restarts the heart and gets it beating again. (Cardio Pulminary Resusitation)
What is defibrilation? What does AED stand for?
Defibrilation is when a controled shock is sent to the heart and gets it to start beating again. Automated External Defibrillator
What is a stroke?
A stroke is when blood flow to the brain is stopped
What are 6 risk factors?
Smoking Not enough exersize/obesity High blood choleterol High blood pressure Diabetes Stress
What are the 5 Ps
Puffing Pale Pucking Pooped Pain
What are signs of a stroke? (FAST)
Face - Is it drooping?
Arms - Can they raise both?
Speech - Is it jumbled or slurred?
Time - Time to call 911 right away.
How can you react to help people having a stroke while the police are on the way? (PLT)
Position - Put them in a comfortable postition.
Loosen clothing - Make them feel they can breath easier.
Talk - Reasure them they will be ok.
What should you do after looking for signs of breathing, but before compressions?
Landmark for chest compressions.
What do you do for a person choking?
Abdominal thrusts.
If the person regains consciousness what do you do?
Lay them on their side with their knee sticking out.
