Bamboo idiophones abound in the Philippines-xylophones, drums, quill-shaped tubes, stamping tubes, scrapers, buzzers and clappers.
Wood Idiophones
This are the instruments that need air to be blown in to produce sound. Philippine bamboo aerophones include various types of flutes, pan-pipes and reed pipes.

These are bamboo or wood stringed instruments that may be struck, plucked, or bowed. They include zithers, lutes and bowed strings.
Chordophones
They are variously shaped–conical, cylindrical, goblet shaped, barrel shaped.
