CP Flashcards

1
Q

cells can undergo regenration, what are the three main categories? give examples

A

labile - cells continue to proliferate throughout life.
eg skin, gut, mucosa, bone marrow

stable - cells turn over at low rate, can undergo rapid replication if needed
- eg kidney, liver, endocrine glands, bine

permanent - either incapable of mitotic division or organised proliferation
- eg cardiac muscle, neurones, straited/skeletal muscle

Q

describe the four-step process of angiogenesis

A
  • Enzymatic degradation of basement membrane f parent vessels
  • Migration of endothelial cells towards stimulus
  • Proliferation of endothelial cells into cords
  • Maturation and lumen formation (initially leaky)
