The Covenant showed that the Jews were God’s chosen people, they followed the 10 Commandments and the Torah helped the Jews to live an obedient life

Later Moses gave the Oral Law also known as the Talmud. Obedience would be blessed and disobedience would be punished

the 10 Commandments used to be recited daily, now they are read 3 times a year during the festival of Shavuot. all 613 laws are important, not just the 10 Commandments
