What did St. Paul say in his letters
St.Paul said that we are all part of the Body of Christ. We are made part of the body through Baptism. We are part of Jesus’ glorified resurrected body (1 Corinthians 12)
We are all different and we need each other in order to work successfully (Romans)
How do we continue the work of Jesus on Earth
By being part of the Body of Christ, Catholics continue the work of Jesus on earth, sharing His gospel message. They work in different ways for the same purpose, to show love of God and love of neighbor so that the Kingdom of God can grow all over the world
What is the laity
The laity includes all baptized members of the Church who are not clergy. Lay people will live out their vocation to evangelize and follow Christ in different ways by choice of career and/or family life
What does the clergy include
The clergy include Deacons, Priests and Bishops who administer the Sacraments and help the Church work towards bringing salvation and living like Jesus. They are of service to the world, they build the Kingdom of God and lead public worship. They act in persona Christi, in the person of Christ when celebrating the Sacrament

Who are the Religious
The religious are those such as Monks and Nuns who dedicate their lives to the Church. They live in separate communities and commit themselves to a life of poverty, chastity and obedience, these are the evangelical counsels. They seek to be free from distractions and surrender themselves to God. In communities they pray minister in the world. They are bringing the Gospel to the world
