Correlative Conjunctions Flashcards
Correlative Conjunctions
The 2 rules to use the correlative conjunctions
1) to use to link 2 equal grammatical elements (2 nouns, 2 verbs, 2 adverbs)
2) pay attention to agreement
- when you link 2 subjects with “and” the verb will be in plural.
“Both pizza and lasagna are Italian dishes.”
- When you link 2 subjects with “or” and “nor”, the verb must agree with the second element.
“Neither pizza nor lasagna is recommended if you are on diet.”
