They are free to reuse or reproduce it as much as they like
they can also give away or sell the rights to it
creativecommons.org allows public to use works while it is still owned by the creator

What happens to a work if is not copyrighted or expired?
it goes to public domain
this means anyone can use it for anything because no one owns it

What can people do with a registered design?
allows mass producing companies to own rights for the blueprint/pattern
What is a trademark?
a symbol, logo, sign, wordmark, etc.
once registered as a trademark the owner can use the ‘r’ symbol

Why are architectural designs unique?
The designer doesn’t own the rights to the design even though they made it
