A
A turn is when a speaker is talking and turn-taking is know when to start and finish a turn

- generally construed as negative
- a speaker begins to speak before the previous speaker is finished to gain control in conversation
- used to show disagreement
- acts of a conflicting nature

A
- construed as positive
- speakers speak over each other as a sign of enthusiasm or support
- generally more cooperative and supportive
- less competitive than an interruption
