What is convection
A
The process of transferring heat through air or liquid currents

What does convection cause
A
Convection causes liquid or gas to heat up, expand, and decrease in densit

What is the process of convection
A
- The particles gain energy as a fluid is heated
- The particles move and spread out more
- This makes the air of the hot fluid less dense than the cold surroundings
- The hot air rises upwards and pulls in cold fluid to replace it

A
The hot air will eventually lose its energy to the surroundings

Why can’t convection happen in solids
A
This is because the particles are in fixed positions so they can’t flow
