What is a PO?
Purchase order: offical document that buers send to sellers to document the sale of a products and services delivered at a late date
What is a change order?
Change or modification made after the contract is awarded
Does a change order require a signature and from who?
Yes, from the owner, designer/architectect and contractor
Does a “minor” change in work require a change order?
Example: Shifitng a door 6” before it is framed
NO, it can be issued as a written order and does not need approval of either owner or contractor
What is a change construction directive?
CCD
Directs the contractor to proceed with changes in work when the owner and contractor have not yet agreed on the change in contract sum or contract time
What is the purpose of a CCD?
To expedite the changes in work instead of a delay in the project
Who signs the CCD?
Architect/interior designer and owner
Once the owner and contractor agree to the term of the CCD, the architect/interior designer issues what?
Change order the correspondes to the CCD
What is architectural supplemental instruction?
ASI
Order by the architect for a minor change in work that does not affect the contract sum or time
Who signs a ASI?
Architect/Designer
What is an addenda?
Modifications to the procurement documents issued for bid or negotiation
When is an addenda issued?
Before the owner-contractor agreement is executed
What is a bulletin?
Used to issue changes after all bids are submitted
A typical bulletin includes what?
- Letter of transmittal listing items sent with the bulletin
- Revised drawing sheets (not the entire set)
- Revised specification sheets (not enire spec book)
- Sheet by sheet narrative of the changes
